B4 Roofscape 1

I've always liked photos of traditional Canarian roofs. Partly it's the lovely warm colour, especially when it's not the uniform orange of new tiles, but the mottled red of older roofs. Partly I just like photos with strong geometric shapes. In this case, I like the brown door and the white wall running diagonally through the picture as well.

I took this picture from the sixth floor observatory offices in the Mayantigo Building, in Santa Cruz, although I'd admired the roof from my own office on the fourth floor before that. The building shown is on the Calle Real.

I like looking out over roofs in any case. I suppose it's plain nosiness, but I like to see other people's washing and pigeon lofts.
