OK, so I'm crazy.
Who else but a madwoman would photograph a half-ruined house, even if it is on La Palma?
I get very mixed reactions to this photograph. Some people think it's an ugly waste of space, while others fall in love with it without knowing why.
What I liked was the cool colours of the wall and woodwork, and the tiny splash of bright red from the rose.
Looking closer, I also liked the way the almost-vertical sunlight brought out the textures, and the wavy shadow of the roof. Since the house hasn't been painted for some time, the texture is more pronounced than usual.
This picture is ten years old, so I expect the house has been demolished by now. But it was in Santo Domingo, Garafía, just up the hill from the church.
Slide film (Fuji Reala) and Yashica 230 camera.
